privacy policy
AMBERPRESS attaches great importance to protecting your personal data. We always inform you about personal data that we collect during your visit to our websites, how it is used, and how you can influence the process.

1. What data is collected and how is it used?
For the provision of our services
Technical characteristics: When you visit our websites, our web servers temporarily record the domain name or IPaddress of your computer, the file requested (file name and URL) by the client, the http response code, and the website from which you are visiting us.
The recorded data is used solely for data security purposes, particularly to protect against attempted attacks on our server. We do not use it to create individual user profiles nor do we share this information with third parties. It is erased after seven days at the latest.
Cookies: We use cookies for certain services. These are small text files that are stored on your computer. They enable the system to tell if you repeatedly visit websites from the same computer.
Session cookies are cookies that are only saved on your computer for the duration of a single Internet session, in the context of comments to articles and blog posts. They do not contain any personal data.
For some offerings we use persistent cookies that support the authentication of blog comments and are stored on your computer for future sessions. In addition, a persistent cookie is saved when you click the confirmation link to release your own comment. These cookies remain valid until you delete them or until the deletion period configured in your client is reached.
You can set your browser to prevent these cookies being stored or to delete the cookies at the end of your Internet session. However, please remember that in this case you may not have access to the full range of functions offered by our websites.
Other personal details such as your name, address, telephone number, or e-mail address will not be collected unless you provide this information voluntarily, for example, in web forms.

2. Where is my data processed?
We are a small publishing house in Berlin and your data is processed in Germany. Your data may also be processed elsewhere within or outside of Germany, in line with legal regulations.

3. How secure is my data?
We have taken extensive technical and operational precautions in accordance with German law to protect your data against unauthorized access and misuse.

4. Will my data be passed on to third parties?
We do not pass on your data to third parties for any other purpose, unless you have given express permission.

5. Will my usage habits be evaluated, e.g. for advertising purposes?
We are not evaluating your usage habits neither for advertising and market research nor for designing websites so this information cannot be traced back to you directly and any other information about your person.

6. Data control with the social media plug-ins used
Some of our websites include buttons for social media networks (Facebook Like button, Google +1, Twitter button, Instagram) that you can use to recommend the services of AMBERPRESS to your friends and family.
To ensure that you have full data control, grayed-out images of the respective functions are displayed instead of the actual social plug-ins when you load the website. The exchange of data is not activated until you click the checkmark next to the images, which loads the respective social media plug-ins. An action (such as liking the page) is not activated until you click a second time.
When the social media plug-in is activated, the following data can be forwarded to the social media provider: IPaddress, browser information, operating system, screen resolution, installed browser plugins (such as Adobe Flash Player), origin of the visitor if you followed a link (referrer), URL of the current web page.
The next time you visit the website, the social media plug-ins are again provided in the default disabled mode, thus ensuring that no data is transferred during a repeat visit to the website.
For more information about social media plug-ins, visit http://heise.de/-1333879 (German Version).

7. Can I obtain information about my stored data?
You may request, free of charge, information on the scope, origin, and recipients of the stored data as well as the purpose of storage.

8. Can I have data corrected?
You may request that incorrect data be corrected at any time.

9. Who should I contact if I have any queries regarding data privacy at AMBERPRESS?
If you have any queries, please contact:

anonymous data collection
You can access our website without entering any personal information. When you access our website we do not collect any personal data. In order to improve our services, we solely analyze statistical data that does not permit us to identify you personally.

data collection and processing through the use of our contact form
We only collect personal data (individual information about personal or factual circumstances of specific persons or identifiable persons) that has been voluntarily entered into our contact form. We use your e-mail address to answer your request. Your data is then deleted as long as you have not agreed to any additional processing or use of this data.

collection, processing and use of personal data
We only collect personal data (individual information about personal or factual circumstances of specific persons or identifiable persons) only to the extent that you have provided. The processing and use of your personal data occurs solely for the purpose of filling and processing your order as well as answering your requests.
Once a contract has been completely finalised, your data are saved in accordance with fiscal and commercial legal retention periods. After the retention period has elapsed, the data is deleted as long as you have not agreed to any additional processing or use of this data.

use of e-mail addresses for mailing lists
We shall use your e-mail address, independent of settlement of contract, for our individual advertising purposes only with your explicit agreement. The declaration of consent to be submitted for this purpose is as follows:

Please enter your e-mail address. You may revoke your consent to be sent the newsletter at any time. Please enter the security code.

transfer of personal data to third parties
Your data will not be supplied to third parties without your express consent. The sole exception to this are our service partners, who require your data to fulfil our contractual obligations to you. In this case we strictly follow the guidelines set out in the German Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz). The scope of the data transfer will be limited to a minimal extent.

cookies
Our website uses cookies on a number of pages. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and saved by your web browser. They are used to make our services more user-friendly, more effective and more secure. Furthermore, cookies allow our systems to recognize your browser and offer you services. Cookies do not contain any personal data.

use of facebook plugins
This website also uses plugins from the social network facebook.com, which is operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”). When you access our internet presence on websites with this plugin, then a connection to the Facebook server is established and the plug-in is displayed on the website on your browser. This communicates to the Facebook server which websites you have visited. If you are logged in as a Facebook member, Facebook then adds this information to your personal Facebook account. When you use one of the plugin functions (e.g. clicking on the “Like” button, writing a comment), this information is assigned to your Facebook account. The only way to prevent this is by logging out before using the plugin. Further information on Facebook’s collection and use of your data, about your rights relating to this collection and use, and how you can protect your privacy can be found on the Facebook website under “Privacy Settings”.

status, correction, restriction and deletion of data
You have the right at any time to request information about the status of your stored data free of charge, as well as the right to correct, delete or restrict this data. Contact us for more information. You can find our contact information in our about section and at this page.
